Two time MARTY AWARD winner, Media Artist, Shazia Javed has released a concept teaser for comedy-drama webseries, ‘Second Chance, Hina!‘. Javed has created this series and written, directed and produced the teaser under the banner of her company LifeSketch Media. Second Chance, Hina! is one of the 12 chosen from 129 applications by IPF and CMF for short form series development program this year. The story of the series revolves around a suburban mom, Hina who goes back to playing cricket after a hiatus and has a second chance at winning in game and in life.
“I have been wanting to tell joyful stories with substance; that represent South Asian- Canadian communities and women- muslim women in particular- in a way that we have never seen before. Second Chance, Hina is all of that. It is heartwarming and fun. I am sure it will resonate with families and mothers in the South Asian community and beyond; and with anyone who has had to put their dreams on a back burner for a while.”, said Javed.
The teaser features Canadian- Pakistani actor Zehra Nawab; and Kamna Mirchandani who is the former captain of the Canadian National Cricket Team. ” Cricket is one the fastest growing sports in Canada in popularity. I was so fortunate to have the support of so many real life Canadian cricket champs who helped coach my reel life players and generously answered my many questions. They are the real inspiration behind this story.” said Javed.
