Mowashahat and Qudood
Mowashahat is the name for both an Arabic poetic form and a secular musical genre, it is a unique form of art that has transcended time an place yet stayed true to its spirit.
We travel to Andalusia and journey to Mesopotamia to find the best of what each Arab region can offer in their own interpretation of this ancient art form. Muwashahat are often paired with the Qudood of Aleppo made famous by the giant Sabah Fakhri for their similar themes and spirit.
