Based on Victor Hugo’s celebrated novel, “The Man Who Laughs“, this devilishly funny and offbeat puppet show from Le Théâtre la Licorne in France, is coming to Mississauga. Great for older kids and adolescents ages 13 and up. Children 13 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
About Victor Hugo
One of the most prolific writers in the world, Victor Hugo is the mind behind literary classics such as Les Miserables, and The Hunchback of Notre-Dame. You might recognize these titles from pop culture. Les Miserables is a hit musical on broadway, and The Hunchback of Notre-Dame was adapted into a Disney animated film in the 1990’s.
Why Is Victor Hugo An Important Writer
Although Victor Hugo lived in the 1800’s, his work is still celebrated and studied all around world. Victor Hugo wrote about the human condition in a tumultuous period in France. He explores both sides human nature; human kindness and cruelty. Victor Hugo’s novels touches on themes of equality, the importance of education, criminal and social justice. His novels continue to resonate with people all over the world.

Since its creation in 1986, the company has produced shows in corridors, in the street, in classrooms, in apartments, in unusual places as well as grand theatres.
