The Savoy Band is a modern 5-piece swing combo that takes inspiration from the vintage sound of the 1920s, 30s and 40s. Band co-leaders local Lindy Hoppers Aleks (piano) and Dina (vocals) make sure the band delivers music they’d love dancing to.
What is the Lindy Hop?
The Lindy Hop is the original swing dance that came out of the Harlem Renaissance in late 1920s, danced in large ballrooms to swing music in Harlem, New York. Rooted in African dances, the Lindy Hop developed from a combination of Charleston, Breakaway, Texas Tommy and vernacular jazz.
