Sauga Poetry – May Open Mic ft. Aris Kian

Join us for our one and only spoken word event of 2024 with featured performer Aris Kian. All are welcome to come perform or watch!

Sauga Poetry is Mississauga’s hub for spoken word events! Come check out our first and last open mic of 2024, as an audience member or performer. All levels of experience are welcome.

Time: Doors 6 30 PM, open mic 7 – 9 PM

How to perform: Open mic performance list will be based on a random draw of those who sign up. Sign up when you arrive anytime before 7 pm!

(Note: There are 16 open mic slots. Each poet can perform 1 poem, 3 mins max.)

Feature bio: Aris Kian is a Houston enthusiast and student of abolitionists. Her poems are published with Button Poetry, West Branch, Obsidian Lit, The West Review and elsewhere. She ranks #2 in the 2023 Womxn of the World Poetry Slam and is the 2023-2025 Houston Poet Laureate. She received her MFA from the University of Houston as an Inprint C. Glenn Cambor Fellow and currently serves as the Narrative Change & Media Manager at Houston in Action.
