Light up your summer nights with Amphitheatre Unplugged Open Mic!
Experience this series of free open mics every Wednesday night in August from 8-9:30 PM at the Celebration Square Amphitheatre. Don’t miss performances from local singers, musicians, dancers, spoken word artists, poets, comedians and more!
Our August 28 host is Andrea Josic, award-winning poet, writer, and performer and the fifth Poet Laureate of Mississauga (2024-2026). She is on the Transitional Artist Roster at VIBE Arts and the Poet Roster at Poesy Entertainment & Studio. Andrea has competed in poetry slams for nearly 10 years, winning the 2020 Toronto Poetry Slam and co-winning the 2019 Feminine Empowerment Movement Slam. Her work, focusing on themes of girlhood, gender, sexuality, mental health, disability, and diaspora, has been published in various outlets. Andrea aims to foster joy, healing, and belonging in their work. Don’t miss our last open mic night of the season!
