Discover African heritage through talks on language, history, and the impacts of colonialism on the continent then and now. Enjoy a performance from Master Drummer Griot Amadou Kienou and reflect on culture and community building in the exhibition Stories of Home, Finding Community and Belonging in Peel.

The Brampton Museum of African History and Culture aims to address the lack of representation and education about African heritage in the community. The museum is intended to be a space for learning, celebration, and cultural exchange. Envisioned as a space for exhibits on African history, local Black history, and a library featuring literature by Black authors, the museum endeavors to shape a more inclusive community and empower future generations.
