MISSISSAUGA, ON – Mississauga’s legendary vocalist Patti Jannetta will be honoured in a special concert performance celebrating women in music at the Living Arts Centre. Isn’t She Lovely comes to the Living Arts Centre on Saturday, September 28, 2024.
Featured performers include Jazz Saxophonist/Vocalist Elena Kapeleris, Carla Gonzalez-Casanova and Heather Christine. Celebrated Canadian musicians Bill King, Mark Kelso and Pat Collins join the cast as the house band for an exciting evening of Jazz, Latin and Rhythm and Blues.
“Patti Jannetta has had a profound impact on artists and audiences here in Mississauga and beyond,” explains Heather Christine, Creator and Producer of Isn’t She Lovely. “Patti’s artistic journey began as a teen actress in the LA/Vegas production of Jesus Christ Superstar across the hall from Elvis and Gladys Knight. A gifted entertainer, Patti has toured with music icons Ronnie Hawkins and Bo Diddley. Patti has received numerous awards including a Queens Golden Jubilee Medal, Laurie Pallett Patron of the Arts, Brilliant-Minded Woman Award, International Woman of Inspiration Award, being the 2020 recipient of a granite star on the Mississauga Music Walk of Fame and in 2023 Patti was inducted into Mississauga’s Legends Row, Walk of Fame. She has contributed so much to Canada through the arts. This evening will celebrate friendship, collaboration and the creative lives of these great women of song“.
Powerhouse Canadian Pianist and Producer Bill King will round out the evening as Musical Director paying tribute to his mentor, Oscar Peterson. A musical master in his own right, Bill Kill has directed for such luminaries including Janis Joplin, Linda Ronstadt, Martha Reeves, The Pointer Sisters, and more.
Audience members are invited to a live Q&A with the cast following the show.
This event is presented in honour of Mississauga’s 50th Anniversary. Partial funding is provided by the City of Mississauga.
