Recognizing that music brings us all together, the TD Music Connected Series returns for its second year, showcasing Chinese, South Asian, Black, Indigenous, and Francophone artists, each captured performing at culturally and personally significant spaces across Canada. Kicking off Monday, October 25, the series is presented by TD Music, and curated by Canada’s Music Incubator (CMI) — the national not-for-profit organization based in Toronto, which specializes in professional development, mentorship, and live events for artists, managers, and music companies. For this 2021/2022 season, the TD Music Connected Series triples in size from 2020, now with 65+ exciting performance airings from a unique mix of established and emerging artists from across Canada.

Last year, 20 artists from diverse backgrounds took the stage virtually to help fill the enormous gap in touring that was left due to COVID-19, with a special nod to Black and Indigenous artists and crew. This year, the series turns the spotlight on Chinese and South Asian talent, comprising over 50% of the total artist lineup and content creators/crew. Committed to diversity both in front of the camera and behind it, TD Music and CMI have curated performances that will be pre-recorded by content creators of diverse backgrounds, including producers, cinematographers, and editors, and will stream online starting October 25, 2021 through to February 28, 2022, exclusively on the TD Music Connected Series YouTube channel

The 2021/2022 TD Music Connected Series lineup includes eclectic hip-hop duo Cartel Madras, multi-platinum JUNO-award winning pop singer Tyler Shaw, Indigenous singer-songwriter Shawnee Kish, award-winning musician, writer, and visual artist VIVEK SHRAYA, 2021 CBC Music Searchlight-winning R&B artist Jhyve, R&B/rap artist Hua Li, Toronto rapper Fateh, JUNO-award nominated modern funk/jazz artist AMALIA, rising bedroom-pop artist Nimkish, soulful jazz-folk artist Earlybird, multi-instrumentalist and producer Aaron Paris, and many more.
