Connecting Mississauga to the arts, and the arts to Mississauga and beyond
Join Martys HUBThe Art Gallery of Mississauga invites you to join us at ‘The border crossings: Youth Art Jam ’ on Thursday November 18th, at 6:00 pm at C-Banquet on the 12th floor of Mississauga City Hall.
Over the past three years, with the financial support of the Ontario Trillium Foundation and the Ontario Arts Council, the border crossings project has demonstrated and engaged the transformative power of art to challenge preconceived ideas around borders. It has used stories and narratives through workshops, discussions, exhibitions and creative processes to fuel alternative ways of seeing across a broad range of physical and cultural contexts.
The three-year project culminates with a conference, a celebration of all that was learned, shared and created. Through live artist talks, interactive collaborative painting, live performances and more, Youth are invited to immerse themselves in community-engaged art and storytelling. Participants will have the chance to tell their stories artistically. The evening will be a wonderful time sharing in art and community. We will also be live streaming on social media to extend the reach for those who were unable to grab a spot.
SPACES ARE LIMITED AND ARE A FIRST COME FIRST SERVED.
Kindly note: This event is geared to Youth, ages 16 to 30 years old. Due to new COVID regulations, all attendees must provide proof of vaccination.
