Light Up the Square
Project overview
The City of Mississauga is seeking new or existing light-based artwork to be a part of Light Up the Square 2022 (LUTS) – an annual outdoor, multi-week winter destination festival of lights in Mississauga’s downtown core!
We are looking for interactive and/or light-based artworks – sculpture, installation, multimedia, projection, performance, and digital/virtual projects such as VR and AR experiences – that can activate the space in Mississauga Celebration Square.
Public art opportunity
Eligibility: This is a public competition open to artists and artist/artist-led teams, designers, artist collectives, and/or digital media groups nationally and internationally.
Budget: Between three and ten proposals will be accepted as part of the LUTS 2022 program. Selected works will receive a minimum fee of $1,000.00 CAD + HST and up to $5,000.00 CAD + HST, depending on the project.
