“The holiday season is here, and Mississauga Library is full of fun activities and resources to keep everyone entertained. Whether you want to spend time with family or get crafty, the library has lots of options for you to enjoy this season.
Watch holiday movies
If you want some great entertainment, check out Kanopy. The Kanopy platform lets you stream a wide selection of holiday movies, making them perfect for family movie nights. Grab some popcorn and enjoy these festive favourites with your loved ones.
Listen to holiday music
Holiday music sets the perfect mood, and with Freegal, library cardholders can stream music playlists. Whether you’re hosting a gathering or want to listen to some festive tunes, Freegal has a variety of songs to bring joy to your home.
Enjoy digital magazines
On those chilly nights at home, you can use the library’s digital magazine service Flipster. You can read all kinds of magazines, from cooking to fashion, right on your device. With new issues available, it’s a great way to relax and enjoy some reading during the holidays.
Make hand-crafted gifts
Want to add a personal touch to your gifts? The library’s Craftsy platform offers many do-it-yourself video tutorials to help you create handmade presents. From unique ornaments to custom gift sets, crafting can make your holiday giving extra special.
The library also offers several collaborative spaces called Makerspaces, where you can access services, technology, and equipment. While some Makerspace equipment requires a library card, it is available for free if you live, work, or go to school in Mississauga.
