101 Dewegun…A Living Hearts Legacy at the Art Gallery of Mississauga

Join us at the Art Gallery of Mississauga as we welcome “101 Deweguns”.

The 101 Deweguns vision honours the legacy of Chanie Wenjack’s life journey, Gord Downie’s challenge to all Canadian to “Do Something” in creating a ‘Next Sentence’ in building a better Canada, Phyllis Webstad’s early life experience and continued journey through the ongoing ‘Orange Shirt’ campaign, along with countless other’s efforts in bringing the correct truth forward in an effort to foster open, healthy and reconciliatory dialogue.

Workshop information: Join Grandmother Jackie Labonte and Oliver Nobosin, makers of the vision and drums, as they provide attendees with the opportunity to participate in assembling and designing Drums, strikers, and Drum bags that will travel all across Canada.

The Art Gallery of Mississauga is honoured to work with Grandmother’s Voice to be a part of the 101 Deweguns…”A Living Hearts Legacy”.
