St. Andrew’s Memorial Presbyterian Church in Port Credit will be hosting a pipe organ concert on Saturday, June 10 at 7:00pm featuring the world class organist Dmytro Morozov. He is an Honoured Worker of Arts of Ukraine, for outstanding achievement in the performing arts. In addition to being a world class organist, Morozov is a composer and chief conductor of the Kharkiv Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre. He is also an Honoured Professor of Music at the Catholic University of New Spain in Miami, Florida.
The program will include sacred music from Baroque to Modern periods by classical music composers being played on the church’s Casavant pipe organ. Morozov is from Kharkiv, one of the first cities that was destroyed by the Russian invasion. He is one of the few organists in the world who performed at the Vatican Divine Services. St. Andrew’s Memorial Presbyterian Church is an active part of the Port Credit community and is located within walking distance of the Port Credit GO Station at 24 Stavebank Road. The Church which was built in 1927 is listed in the Heritage Register of the City of Mississauga which recognizes buildings having cultural heritage value or interest.
