Play Date is an online monthly play reading club by Crane Creations Theatre Company where you can read or listen to a play, live on Zoom. Play Date is a great activity if you want to practice English by reading aloud, are a lover of theatre and want to read great plays from around the world, or want to connect with other people.
This month we are reading the second act of Arcadia by Tom Stoppard.
Arcadia published in 1993, explores the interaction between modern academics and the past residents of a Derbyshire country house from the early 19th century. The play deals with the nature of truth and time. Focusing on the mysteries that engage the minds and hearts of characters whose passions and lives align across different centuries. As the play goes back and forth between the two times, many thought-provoking questions are brought up and big abstract concepts discussed.
