Garden Day 2024 at Hancock Woodlands

Join Visual Arts Mississauga and Sauga EnPlein Air Painting Group for a live demonstration of plein air painting workshop at Hancock Woodlands organized by City of Mississauga Parks, Forestry and Community Division and genorously sponsored by Mississauga Arts Council with art supplies provided by Visual Arts Mississauga.

Visual Artists Leo Dias and Shelly Foster will be providing a free, guided demonstration of plein air painting techniqes, utilizing watercoulor pencils and water colours on watercolour paper. There will also be colouring nature images for novice budding artists to colour in,  utilizing colour markers and crayons.  Start time will be 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, look for the workshop area, with a yellow paint palet sign and MAC’s banner.

There will also be accomplished, taletend plein air painters, Suyi Hawkins, Ann Y Tin and Michelle Chen, and others from the Sauga EnPlein Air Painting Group at Hancock Woodlands Park,  creating paintings inpired by the beautiful suroundings of the trees and nature in the park.  This will provide an opportunity for guests of the Garden Day at Hancock Woodlands to experience and observe artists creating in real time.

The following Horticulture Goup Exibitors will also be on sight: Riverwood Conservancy, Blooming Boulevaards, Mississauga Master Gardners, Streetrsville Seed Library, City of Mississauga Parks and Cloverleaf Garden Club.

Please note that there is limited paarking available at Hancock Woodlands, additional parking is available in Corsair Public school parking lot. Also consider using MiWay transportaion to get to the park.
