While you’re at the Square, you can also snap a pic in front of the 40′ Christmas tree, go skating on the city’s biggest outdoor rink, relax in the rinkside heated patio, grab a tasty food truck treat, and more.
Light Up the Square kicks off on November 20th with an official ceremony led by Mayor Crombie and Members of Council, lighting the 40′ Christmas tree for the first time of the season. The ceremony will feature artists and special guests, including the members of the Mississauga Symphony Orchestra. The ceremony will be followed by an onscreen presentation of A Triumphant Return, the Mississauga Symphony Orchestra’s first live performance of the season, live from Hammerson Hall at the Living Arts Centre.
For those who want to join the celebration from home, the official ceremony will be livestreamed so residents can tune in from the comfort of their homes. A link to the ceremony will be available here on November 20.
