About Christine: Christine Lobo is a pet portrait artist based in Mississauga who specializes in realistic pencil, coloured pencil, and acrylic animal portraits. Fascinated by animal expressions, she blends her childhood pastime of drawing cartoon characters with realism to create portraits that are soft, delicate, and lively. In addition to creating commissioned pieces and exhibiting her work at local venues, Christine shares her creative process with short instructional videos to encourage budding artists to pursue their passion.
Artist Statement: Creating art is a form of elaborate storytelling when words fail me. Anything that awakens my imagination, be it smells, sounds, pictures, colours, feelings, or memories, inspires me to pick up a pencil and sketch it out. My intent with every piece is to accurately and realistically depict subjects with the hope of opening a window and allowing you to get a glimpse into my imagination.
