Poetic Voices – International Women’s Day

In celebration of International Women’s Day, the Art Gallery of Mississauga invites you to a communal gathering of poetry reading and conversation, where two exceptional women from the arts community will share their journeys as artists and poets in Canada.

Lisa Shen (the 2023-2025 Youth Poet Laureate of the City of Mississauga) and Andrea Josic (Poet Laureate of the City of Mississauga), have demonstrated steadfast dedication to both their craft and the advancement of women’s rights. They will each present a poem drawn from their personal experiences, followed by a Q&A session with the audience.

This event is designed to inspire and empower women in the arts, fostering a space for connection, collaboration, and mutual support. Coffee, tea, and light refreshments will be provided as we come together to celebrate creativity, resilience, and progress.
