WE’RE BACK with our biggest event of the year – the Summer 2024 “Speak Your Truth” annual open mic night and gallery event is back and ready to accept performances! Join us on SATURDAY, JULY 27th 5:30-10:30PM at UTM’s BLIND DUCK PUB in Mississauga.
Stay Woke is. a registered youth non-profit that has been operating for more than 6 years in the GTA. Through our events, we aim to encourage a culture of social awareness through creativity, in order to amplify youth voices and build a community of youth change makers. In the past, our events have gathered over 150 youth from across the GTA to perform, network, collaborate and explore how creativity manifests in their lives. Popular collaborations include Chaiiwala, McMaster University, the University of Waterloo, Western University and MuslimFest.
We’re so excited to have you for this interactive and uniquely engaging event, featuring:
- Networking and connection opportunities with a diverse youth community
- Engaging youth creative performances
- An interactive audience experience
- A gallery featuring youth businesses, interactive booths and social entrepreneurs
- Food, drinks and gift bags
- The chance to connect with a lifelong community
FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE: Tickets are available for purchase in the second section of this form for those aged 14+, for a cost of $15 with dinner included. Please note that there are a limited number of tickets available – be sure to buy your tickets as soon as possible to avoid missing out!
FOOD + DRINK: Dinner, snacks and refreshments are included in the ticket cost. There will be options available for varying dietary restrictions.
PERFORMERS / GALLERY : Our performer and gallery applications are open! Youth (14-25) wanting to either perform or host a booth at the event will need to apply (also available on our social media and website)!
PHOTOS/VIDEOS: Throughout the event, our team will be collecting photos and videos for use on our media pages (including our social media and website). Please note that by attending the event, you consent to potentially appearing on these pages. Photographer applications are open as well!
COVID REGULATIONS: As always, please do not attend if you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19. Masks and proof of vaccination are not a requirement at this event.
