Frog in Hand’s Summer Company dancers in action.
Frog in Hand’s Summer Company returns for its 7th year with an exciting series of performances, Summer Dances, showcasing the exceptional talent of their dancers in original choreographic works. These performances are set against the backdrop of their new multipurpose dome, the Art Shelter, in Lakeview, Mississauga.
Summer Dances features a mixed bill of short choreographic works produced by Frog in Hand’s Summer Company — a collective of youth artists, including theatrical performers, dancers, and other creatives engaged in an 8-week paid training and mentorship program. This marks the first official performance series at the Art Shelter, Frog in Hand’s new eco-friendly dome designed as a multi-purpose space for both the company and the larger community.
The Art Shelter is an innovative, eco-friendly structure providing a versatile space for performances, rehearsals, and community events. This ties into Frog in Hand’s commitment to both arts excellence and sustainability. Learn more about the Art Shelter and its creation here.
Founded by sisters Noelle and Colleen Snell, Frog in Hand is a diverse collective of dancers, choreographers, musicians, actors, spoken word poets, designers, and visual artists. They are storytellers inspired by local tales, people, and communities, blending disciplines to examine the interactions between space, place, and narrative.
Catch the remaining Summer Dances performances on July 18, 19, and 20, starting at 8 PM at the Art Shelter, 887 Hydro Road. Don’t miss the chance to witness this new space for yourself, and experience original new works by emerging artists.
