On June 28, 2024, Ward 1 Councillor Stephen Dasko, MAC, the City of Mississauga, Mississauga Arts Council (MAC)’s Murals with MAC program and visual artists, Shalue and Adam (Sauga City) collaborative effort was unveiled to the public. This large mural project features caricatures of local festival founders and Port Credit community leaders created by Sauga City. Port Credit is home to many storytellers, it is rich in music and entertainment, with a bustling marina and lakefront views, this mural is reflective of just that!
Sauga City transformed the Zamboni storage bunker at Port Credit Memorial Park into a vibrant mural that celebrates Mississauga’s rich cultural heritage and commemorates its 50th Anniversary. This project, adorned with elements from iconic local events like Paint the Town Red, Southside Shuffle, and local figures like Johnny Bozzo, Chuck Jackson, Diane Goldsmith, Ric Cooper, and Kristine Kane, showcases how art can breathe new life into public spaces, offering interactive and aesthetic experiences.
Sauga City, the brainchild of artistic duo Shalue and Adam, stands as a beacon of creativity and community spirit in Mississauga. Founded by these professionally trained artists and designers, Sauga City goes beyond being just a webcomic—it serves as a platform to celebrate and showcase the diverse cultural tapestry of Mississauga.
