Fundraising Coordinator
The Fundraising Coordinator works closely with the board, staff and volunteer team to plan and implement fundraising campaigns and events that meet the strategic objectives of the organization.
MCS Mission Statement:

Role of the Board of Directors:
The role of the board is to ensure that Mississauga Chamber Singers achieves its mission in an ethical way through linkages between the organization and Its community. In addition, the board has the overall responsibility for the financial stewardship and viability of Mississauga Chamber Singers and must ensure that it raises appropriate funding to meet the overall objectives.
Fundraising Coordinator responsibilities and requirements:
- consults with the staff to establish the annual fundraising goals
- researches and selects agencies and foundations for funding applications
- establishes and presents to the Board of Directors a comprehensive annual fundraising plan
- prepares and presents solicitation appeals for donation campaigns in consultation with the staff for review by the Board of Directors prior to execution
- prepares solicitation appeals for sponsorship campaigns in consultation with the staff for review by the Board of Directors prior to execution
- a minimum of 2 years fundraising experience in the non-profit arts sector is required
Meetings and Term:
- The board of directors typically meets 6 times per year, usually in August, September, November, January, March, and May.
- Two year term with the possibility of renewal for a second term.
Expectations of Board Members:
- Directors familiarize themselves with the work and finances of the organization
- Directors are active participants and volunteer for and willingly accept assignments and complete them thoroughly and on time
- Directors are expected to attend all board meetings, and to prepare by reviewing materials and reports prior to meetings
- Directors participate In fund raising for the organization In accordance with the annual fundraising strategy
- Directors are expected to make, or generate, an Individual annual financial donation to the organization.
- Directors believe in and commit to the organization’s mission and advocate for the organization and Its activities.
