Get ready to hear some great new tunes stuck in your head as Mississauga introduces Music 311.

The City’s 3-1-1 customer service agents strive to answer calls as quickly as possible however, during peak times, customers may be required to hold for the next available agent.  Starting today, callers to Mississauga’s 3-1-1 Citizen Contact Centre will enjoy an enhanced customer experience with the option to listen to a selection of music by local Mississauga artists.

“We have an incredible music industry in Mississauga and I am pleased to provide another opportunity to showcase our emerging musical talent,” said Mayor Bonnie Crombie. “Music 311 provides callers with the opportunity to experience music from local artists and provides our talented musical artists with the opportunity to share great tunes with new audiences. This is just one more example of how we are working to build an arts-friendly city – raising the profile of local musicians and highlighting the value the arts community brings to Mississauga.”

“We had such an incredibly positive response from our local music industry when we offered them the opportunity to feature their talent on the City’s 3-1-1 call lines,” said Paul Damaso, Director, Arts and Culture. “Music is such a huge part of our creative scene in Mississauga. I think residents will be excited to hear the amazing talent of our 16 showcased artists, who exemplify the talent that’s emerging from our City.”

“We are pleased to be able to offer this enhanced experience to our 311 callers,” said Maurice Swaby, Director, Corporate Business Services. “We are committed to providing excellent and timely service and Music 311 is a welcomed addition as we answer large volumes of calls during peak times.”
