“Dust off your cosplay outfits — the Mississauga Comic Expo is back and it’s free.

Held virtually the last two years due to the pandemic, the comic expo returns to the Living Arts Centre, 4141 Living Arts Dr. on Sunday, Oct. 16 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

This year comic fans can join workshops, cosplay shoots, see exhibitors, panels, tabletop board game demos and play free video games.

The Sketch Challenge returns where comic artists —Scott Chantler, Meaghan Carter and Adam Gorham; and Paris Alleyne, Joy San, Jey Pawlik and Angela Poon — have 20 minutes to sketch characters selected by the audience.

There are author talks including Scott Chantler known for critically-acclaimed graphic novels Bix and Two Generals. Michelle Parker and Jey Pawlik, a comic creating duo, will speak about Topaz Comics.

Learn how to draw comic characters with Toronto-based comic artist Meaghan Carter.

If you don’t have a costume, there will be a “Costume Creation Station” where kids can design a superhero costume and wear it in the costume parade.

There is also lego for kids and a range of retro and new board games for older fans including Dungeons & Dragons.
