Job Summary

Reporting to the Supervisor of Live Event and Media Productions this position coordinates the staff and event logistics and productions within the Mississauga Culture Division. Working with both internal and external stakeholders the successful candidate will ensure all required elements are in place for each production.

This position is also responsible for developing PT staff, ensuring they have the tools and skills required to execute events at the highest level.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all aspects of production and technical operations for Cultures Live Event and Media Productions.
  • Coordinate production requirements for external festivals and events.
  • Work with Clients to develop storyboards and production designs.
  • Train Part-Time staff on production equipment and production operations.
  • Oversee all aspects of production including; design, budget, staffing, equipment and execution.
  • Complete inspections and repairs on equipment.
  • Lead PT staff during shifts.
  • Assess, evaluate and monitor potential workplace hazards including indoor air quality, lighting, noise and heat stress.
  • Coordinate Maintenance for all technical equipment to ensure it is in working condition; perform routine checks and maintenance as required.
  • Evaluate Processes to ensure operational are LEAN

 

Skills and Qualifications

  • Post-Secondary degree in a field related to Event or Media Productions.
  • 3+ years in broadcast using the Newtek Tricaster or similar  production equipment.
  • 3+ years in video production developing stories and producing videos for various social media platforms.
  • 3+ years in a supervisor position overseeing either full time or part-time staff.
  • 5+ years in Live Event production operations (as a console operator).
  • Strong communication skills and experience writing reports.
  • The ability to teach different aspects of Live Events and Media Productions.
  • The ability to problem solve issue and troubleshoot equipment.
  • Operational knowledge of computer and computer networking.
  • Operational knowledge of the Live Events H&S guidelines.
  • 3+ years experience in CAD; AutoCad or Sketchup.
  • 3+ years experience in one or more editing software [ProTools, Adobe CC,  MA, EOS, etc.]
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office’s; Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, Visio.
  • 2+ years working with hand and power tools for set construction, repairs, etc.
  • Experience working through all weather conditions and the ability to foresee issues and take necessary steps to correct.
  • The ability to work shifts up to 13 hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Standard First Aid.
  • Valid G license and experience driving large vehicles such as cube vans.
