Join us to create a community wood piling installation!

Learn the art of wood piling, sip on some hot chocolate, and get involved in an art installation at CreativeHub 1352’s exciting winter event, the Mississauga Festival of Trees!

Join woodworker and sculpture extraordinaire, Richard Posa, on December 5th at the Small Arms Building to create a community wood piling art installation for the Mississauga Festival of Trees! The installation will be on view throughout the duration of the festival, running December 9th-19th.

With a variety of different tree species, stumps, split wood, and branches, the wood piling installation will represent the “laws of nature” and the breaking and bending of Mother Nature’s laws. The community is invited to join in creating the installation by piling and stacking wood between two large tree “bookends” to create a design. Technical support will be provided by Richard.

Cloth gloves, hard-soled closed-toe shoes, and imagination required! Please dress appropriately for the weather as this is an outdoor activity. Washrooms and warm-up provided in the Small Arms Inspection Building. Food and beverage purchases are available indoors at the Lakeview Farmers’ Market.

Email us at volunteers.smallarmssociety@gmail.com to get involved in this and other volunteer opportunities!
