Story as Medicine is an interactive storytelling workshop series that
connects participants more deeply to themselves, one another and our
sense of connection with the Earth. Birthed from facilitator Sharrae Lyon’s
own personal explorations of navigating mental wellness and integrating
storytelling techniques that are rooted in our human birthright to be
expressive, creative and bold, the series has supported past participants in
bravely expressing their truth in both the joys, the frustrations, the
mysteries of life, and the incredible possibilities that we can create.
There are stories that support our individual and collective well-being, and
stories that interrupt and erode our ability to see our shared humanity and
existence. There are stories that elevate our capacity to envision incredible
solutions to our collective challenges, and stories that zap us and make us
feel helpless.
What stories do we wish to tell? What stories can be discarded? What
stories bring regeneration?

Story as Medicine will have three in-person community and donation-
based workshops at the incredible community cafe and presentation
centre of Studio.89 in Mississauga.

A new container is about to unfold, calling those moved by story. No
previous arts experience necessary.
