After a two-year Covid-19 pandemic, the newly renovated Meadowvale Theatre in Mississauga welcomes a
Chinese arts group for the first time. On October 23rd at 7:30 p.m., Kaleidoscope Golden Autumn Gala 2022
was kicked off on time and all seats in the theater were occupied. The audience was fascinated by the
essence of the three years’ accumulation of our artistic talent, creativity, and passion, which were all
presented in bloom.

The gala received congratulations from the three levels of government in Canada. Prime Minister Justin
Trudeau specially sent a congratulatory letter to KCPA to extend the warmest greetings to all the people
attending the gala, praise the diligence of KCPA in promoting Canadian cultural exchanges, and wish
everybody an unforgettable evening. Meanwhile, the Ontario Premier Doug Ford, Mayor of Mississauga Bonnie
Crombie, and Han Tao from Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Toronto, also sent
congratulatory letters to the gala.

MP Rechie Valdez personally attended the party and delivered a speech. Winnie Liao, president of the Respon
Wealth Management, who provided title sponsorship for this gala, came onto the stage, and delivered a warm
speech. Sponsorship certificates were delivered to her and those who had generously sponsored the gala
afterwards.

The presentation featured a diversified and prodigious repertoire of Chinese classical dances, ethnic dance,
contemporary dance, choir and vocal works, operatic works, and instrumental music. The presentation also
had Ukraine and Mexican dance groups joined for their fantastic cultural dances.

Alice Li, head of the Kaleidoscope Chinese Performing Arts Society, highly praised the members of KCPA for
their continuous and perseverant training during the special epidemic period of the past three years. They are
full of enthusiasm and passion, bringing vitality to the development and growth of KCPA. Also, the highest
respect must be paid to our professional art directors such as Leo Li, Sun Guonan, and Louis Tsai, etc. who
have devoted themselves to KCPA during the past three years. Without their teaching and guidance, KCPA
would never develop healthily on the right track. Finally, sincere greetings need to be expressed to Ted Li and
others who have made outstanding contributions to the establishment and development of KCPA since its
foundation 12 years ago.

Currently, KCPA features a diversified and prodigious repertoire of Chinese dances, vocal works, theatrical
skits, fashion shows, operatic works, and instrumental music. It boasts a wonderful blend of dance, theatre,
singing, acting, costumes and new media to please any artistic palate. Active in the community stage over the
years, KCPA enjoys a high reputation in the Greater Toronto Area. This May, KCPA choir was selected as the
only pure Chinese chorus to participate in the open rehearsal of Podium 2022, Choral Canada’s national
conference connections series, and performed the Chinese Uyghur folk song called “Showing Your Face
Under the Wedding Veil”, which was highly rated by local artists and chorus conductors.

KCPA welcomes individuals interested in Chinese arts and culture to join us in our mission to promote Chinese
arts and culture and contribute to the multiculturalism in Canada.
