SAWITRI Theatre Group is happy to announce the inaugural of the Mahendra Joshi playwriting competition, which is seeking original one-act plays in English and Hindi by emerging playwrights in South Asia as well as diaspora. With a prize of $500 CAD and the opportunity to be produced and featured in the SAWITRI Shorts Festival 2025, the winning play in each language will have a promising platform to bring forward their talent to. The call for applications will be on 10th June 2024 and the entries will close on 31st August 2024. You can register on the following link:
