Mississauga Chamber Singers is thrilled to present an ‘all Mozart’ concert, featuring his familiar ‘Coronation Mass’. Also on the program are his earlier works – Regina Coeli and Alma Dei Creatoris. Join them March 4, 2023, 7:30 PM at Christ First United Church.
Of the sacred works that Mozart composed in Salzburg none is as well known or as popular as the Mass in C K. 317 – more well known as the ‘Coronation Mass’. This composition for soloists, choir and orchestra, deploys a virtuoso musical palette with alternating choir and soloists lending an operatic richness to this masterwork. Certainly the music itself is celebratory in nature. The genius of the work is that, despite its compact form, it has the ceremonial grandeur of a much larger work.
Joining the Mississauga Chamber Singers are four outstanding Canadian soloists and chamber orchestra.
