2021 Busking Season Update

Only 50 SaugaBusk permits will be issued for the 2021 Busking season.

The City of Mississauga has entered ‘Step 2’ in the COVID 19 Pandemic and the Sauga Busks program is now available with a start date of June 30, 2021 and is open until October 31, 2021 daily from 11:00 am to 9:00 pm.

Returning Buskers: Open as of June 30, 2021
  1. You will need to provide proof of insurance. If you do not have the required insurance, you may purchase it for $37.80 upon registration by contacting rec.info@mississauga.ca
  2. If you have your own insurance coverage,
    1. Supply a pdf copy of the document.
    2. It must name the City of Mississauga as an additional insured for 2 Million liabilities.
  3. Continue to use your pass from 2020
  4. Send signed copy of Terms and Conditions to rec.info@mississauga.ca
  5. Start busking at any City of Mississauga Busk Stops.
New Buskers: Open for applications as of July 7, 2021
  1. If you are approved, you will receive an email with the Busker Permit Terms and Conditions
  2. Send signed copy of Terms and Conditions to rec.info@mississauga.ca
  3. New buskers, will be required to upload and send a photo (head shot) to rec.info@mississauga.ca . It will be upload into the system.
  4. You will be required to book appointment with the Customer Service Centre rec.info@mississauga.ca to arrange a “curb side pickup” of their card at The Customer Service Centre located at 5600 Rose Cherry Place, Mississauga, ON L4Z 4B6 (Paramount Fine Food Centre) side door as you will not be permitted to enter the building due to the Paramount Fine Food Centre is a vaccination site. All other facilities still remain closed to the public.
    1. Participants under 18 MUST have their parents/Guardian sign the Terms and Conditions agreement before submitting.
  5. You will need to provide proof of insurance. If you do not have the required insurance, you may purchase it for $37.80 upon registration by contacting rec.info@mississauga.ca
  6. If you have your own insurance coverage,
    1. Supply a pdf copy of the document.
    2. It must name the City of Mississauga as an additional insured for 2 Million liabilities.
  7. Each permit can be used for up to five(5) people to accommodate groups- permit holder must be on site at all times
Start Busking!
  • Busking identification must be worn at all time while you are performing.
  • There is no electricity is available nor stages for performers – battery operated amps are acceptable to use
  • Busking locations are not scheduled and are on a first come first serve basis with a 2 hour limit.
  • Signage will be installed at the approved SaugaBusks locations
  • Specific marked locations and regulations set regarding COVID precautions must be adhered to.
  • COVID Pandemic Step 2 regulations:
    • If live entertainment is performed for spectators at the business or place, the performers maintain a physical distance of at least three metres from any spectators or are separated from any spectators by plexiglass or some other impermeable barrier.
    • People gathered in groups of fewer than 25 people and must maintain a distance of 2 metres (6 feet) from one another.
    • If the park, pathway or location you go to is crowded, leave and head to a less crowded area.

  • Port Credit Marina – By marina
  • Memorial Park – behind Port Credit library
  • JJ Plaus Park (Port Credit) – Along the Pier
  • JJ Plaus Park (Port Credit) – End of Pier
  • Lake Front Promenade Park – Covered area by Boat Launch at the far end of the park
  • Meadowvale Community Centre – behind the building by Lake Aquitaine pier
  • Port Credit Farmers Market – Pre-approval is required by contacting the BIA directly natasha@portcredit.com
  • Streetsville BIA Farmers Market – Pre-approval is required by contacting the BIA directly duncan@villageofstreetsville.com
