Celebrate local Mississauga talent at Canadian Music Week (CMW)! 6 bands (Kill The Burr, MAYBE MAY, The Jailbirds, Uforia, Wayward Saints and The Pull of Planets) are getting together for one night only on June 7, 7:30 PM at Rivoli in downtown Toronto to perform and entertain, so be sure to get your tickets now.
Mississauga Music serves as community hub of local musicians, businesses, venues, promoters, and creatives. Founder Demetrius mentions how CMW has been very supportive Mississauga Music’s effort and they are thankful to be a part of their festival again. Each band dabbles in a variety of music genres and some will even be performing their newest singles. Check out what each Mississauga based band has to offer below!
Kill the Burr aka KTB combines his love of visceral alt-rock with industrial pop, alt-hip-hop and R&B/soul music in his digital releases and whilst performing alongside his live band!
MAYBE MAY fronted by Demetrius (vocals/guitar), Rian (bass) and Vitaly (drums), blend heavy instrumentation with graceful melodies and themes of love, loss and betrayals throughout.
The Jailbirds are a 3 person band who not long after the release of their debut EP, ‘The Black River’, nominated for and won “Best Rock” at the 2018 Mississauga Music Awards and since then, won “Best Live Band” at the 2022 MM Awards.
Uforia – This 4 person band provides alternative hard rock music, including their hit song “Only Time Will Tell” which has amassed over 50K streams on Spotify.
Wayward Saints is a Canadian old-school rock 5 piece that aims to bring the heartfelt spirit of rock to all generations. The band features Lindsay Coleman, Darren Flower, Justin Bennett, and Bil Bertram.
The Pull of Planets is a Heavy-Soul & Alternative musical band collective. “TPXPS” formed organically during the global pandemic for the purpose of creating mental & emotional health catharsis between long time friends and collaborators: (Five & Tens, The Dreamboats, Ground illusionz & TEK Hip-Hop crew). Together, they reference the unseen experiences of humanity.
Canadian Music Week (CMW) is Canada’s premier annual event dedicated to the media, music, and entertainment industry featuring the festival and main summit.
The festival will span 6 nights of in-person and virtual performances, and feature hundreds of bands at Toronto’s best music venues alongside awards shows and trade expositions with industry experts who are leading the way forward!
