Mississauga musicians brought their A-game to venues across Toronto last week for Canadian Music Week. The week consisted of live performances and networking opportunities, attracting musicians and music industry professionals from across the globe to the GTA, as well as highlighting the best of Canada’s music scene. Some of Mississauga’s strongest emerging talent was on display; learn more about all of the Mississauga-based performers below, and the City of Mississauga’s win as Music City of the Year.
Aieysha Haws
Singer-songwriter Aieysha Haws performed at the CMW Showcase at Paddock Tavern on June 5, showcasing her stellar vocals.
The Boneheads
Mississauga favourites The Boneheads rocked the CMW Showcase at The Painted Lady on June 5 with their alternative soul rock.
The Jailbirds
Mississauga Music Award Winners The Jailbirds brought their heavy-hitting sound to the CMW Showcase at the Wheatsurf Tavern on June 6.
Bree Taylor
Country-rock singer-songwriter Bree Taylor performed at the CMW Showcase at Cameron House on June 6.
Trevor LaRose
Trevor LaRose mixes his background in classic music foundations with a love for modern pop genres. He performed at the CMW Showcase at the Paddock Tavern on June 7.

Pop singer/songwriter CMAGIC5 performed at the CMW Showcase at Bar Cathedral on June 7.
Velvet Beach
Dreamy indie band Velvet Beach performed at the Drake Underground on June 8 as special guests for Ivytide.
A Short Walk to Pluto
A Short Walk to Pluto describes themselves as Alanis Morissette meets Rush. They performed as special guests for The Damn Truth at The Garrison on June 9.
Pink Leather Jackets
Gritty rock band Pink Leather Jackets performed at the CMW Showcase at Bar Cathedral on June 8.
One In The Chamber
MARTY Award winners One In The Chamber performed at the CMW Showcase at Wheatsheaf Tavern on June 10.
City of Mississauga named Music City of the Year!
Congratulations to the City of Mississauga on winning the Music City of the Year Award at the 2023 Live Music Industry Awards, created by Canadian Music Week in partnership with the Canadian Live Music Association.
