As we hunker down and stay indoors amidst the chill of the first day of winter, this week’s MartysHUB artist takeover- Cat Bernardi has a sweet, soothing, and dare we say it – cozy tune to listen to as we curl up and dream about holidays of years gone past – and not just the ones pre-pandemic!
In fact, when Cat took time to chat with us this month about crafting a new holiday repertoire with the help of a MAC Microgrant but with the restrictions imposed by the pandemic, she not only let us into the inner workings of recording an EP with musicians from home – but this also extended to figuring out the logistics of shooting a music video!
We found out that the challenges of masking, physical distancing and capacity limits made it difficult to find a suitable location – but with the support of friends and family, a heading out west to a home in Burlington seemed to be the safest bet. With a gorgeous, warm setting amid twinkling lights – it ended up being the perfect setting to depict a holiday at home!
