Jennifer Cortez aka the Prof is releasing a new single on May 31!
“Mi Amor” will be Jennifer’s first single of 2024. The single is in the style of rock/reggae with a retro 90s/00s feel similar to bands, Ace of Base, No Doubt and Magic! The lyrics and vocal composition are by Jennifer herself, and the music production is by Justin Zoltek most recently known for being a part of the Dreamboats.
About the song, “Mi Amor’:
““Mi Amor” in Spanish means “my love” but the term is not necessarily used so literally; it is used as a term of endearment just like in English when you call people “hun” or “love”. To clarify, it’s not about real true love and is taken in a different direction. The song is a fun, happy and light-hearted about people that you come across in your life that may be travelling from another country, passing through your country or you are travelling to another country. Sometimes you meet people and you may really connect and think, “wow this is great” but it is not permanent. However, the connection is real and sometimes you wonder why life can be unfair sometimes. Ultimately, it’s about trusting life, and that life will take you the right way throughout your journey.
