With over three decades of professional experience as a Banker, Author, Artistic Director and Entrepreneur Zohra has proven herself as an accomplished professional and expert in the field. She is the winner of Top National Sales Award from Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce. As a dynamic, results-driven leader, Zohra has demonstrated success not only as an author/producer of plays, poetry and prose in English and Urdu, but having traveled to about thirty-six countries she has used her experience to paint the picture of our world on a vast canvas. Prior to migrating to Canada she won two gold medals at All Nigeria Open Badminton Championship.
Canadian resident since 1976 Zohra has fully embraced ‘Multi-culturalism’ in Canada through her non-profit org ‘Bridging the Gap Productions’ with a mission of “Enlightenment through Entertainment”. She has involved Canadians from various faiths and ethnic backgrounds to work together for common cause. She has partnered with various professional organizations as well as youth groups, and is recognized by the Government of Canada for raising inter-cultural awareness through her socio dramas staged in Canada (Five plays staged in Mississauga, at the Living Arts Centre. (As well she has coordinated open mic discussion forums including Cyber-bullying, Sexual Harassment, Infidelity in Marriage, Racial Discrimination. To address these she has choreographed innovative stage shows at the Celebration Square of the city in partnership with youth groups.
Her work has been published in numerous anthologies in Canada and the USA: Canadian Voices Volumes I and II. Kala Magazine, Toronto, Canadian Imprints Volumes I, II, and III. Courtney Park Connections Volume I, II and III, the Artis Nineofive. Two of her own published books are Window Shopping … for Lasting Love. (2 award winning plays staged in Canada), True Colours–From the Universe to the Inner Mind (prose poetry). Year after year Zohra has coordinated Annual International Peace Poetry, followed by open mic discussion forums in partnership with Women’s Federation for World Peace.
The President of IAOTP, Stephanie Cirami, stated “Choosing Zohra for this award was an easy decision for our panel to make. She has utilized various ‘Innovative’ forms of literary arts to involve community at grass root level. We felt she would make an amazing asset to our organization.” The upcoming Memoir “The Other I” has been supported by the Mississauga Arts Council (Micro-Grant).
Wow we showed up in Mississauga the same year, 1976. How great our paths have crossed.

Finding meanings in coincidences such as this is extremely interesting.
I used to believe that the Universe is benevolent … maybe but I’m more sure that ‘We give it meanings’
