Several Mississauga artists will be in the spotlight in a September concert series taking place at the Celebration Square amphitheatre.
The Love Local Music series will run Thursday and Friday nights from Sept. 8 to 29.
The series will include many local artists that have honed their craft in the city. They will also share their stories through their music and how their communities made them the people they are today.
Each show runs from 7 to 9 p.m. and tickets are available through the City of Mississauga’s arts and culture page.
The first show on Sept. 8 will be an open mike hosted by B.L.A.C. (Building Legacy, Awareness and Culture) Music Festival with the goal of giving emerging Black artists in Mississauga a platform to share their art with the community.
Other shows are as follows:
• Y2K Fest on Sept. 9
• Tennyson King, Arlene Paculan and Sarah Catharine on Sept. 15
• Cheers & Beers, presented by Bree Taylor, on Sept. 18
• Sheldon Universe: Music for Peace and Mental Health on Sept. 22
• Humble & Hungry on Sept. 23
• Wonder Women: Youth Edition 2022 on Sept. 29
