Mississauga is thrilled to have The Dreamboats back in their hometown to perform live at the Living Arts Centre on Friday, February 16, 2024! Don’t miss this rare opportunity to see homegrown talent for one night only.
Perhaps they will even perform a song from their newest album “Millions” which will be released on the 13th of February, only 3 days before going on stage at LAC’s largest venue–the 1,300-seat Hammerson Hall.
The Dreamboats are having a featured guest joining them for the Johnny Cash song “Jackson”, Rachael Bawn, also from Mississauga, mentions Ritchie Hummins.
“Millions” gets its name from the Million Dollar Quartet. It is essentially a tribute album to the quartet’s legendary artists: Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins, Johnny Cash and Jerry Lee Lewis. Pre-save the album here.
Modern. Retro. Revival. This is how Mississauga natives of the band “Dreamboats” describe their musical style and band presence. This is evident in all their discography from covers to original material, and the band’s mission as a group to breathe life into the classics once again.
The Dreamboats were formed in 2009 and consist of members: Johnny G. Wiz (drums, vocals), Ritchie Hummins (lead vocals, guitar), Justin Zoltek (bass guitar, vocals) and Adam Brik (lead guitar). They utilize sounds from long-gone but not forgotten eras, musically or otherwise for a new generation to discover and appreciate.
Not only are they using the 50s and 60s era for musical inspiration, but the influence is also present in the way they dress and represent themselves. In every video, you will see the four members suited up often in matching shades exuding energy and temperament that livens every crowd and every generation.
Among their many accomplishments, The Dreamboats also won a MARTY Award in 2019 for Established Music Group! This achievement highlights their contribution to the city’s dynamic music scene and their effort and passions as a group.
Speaking to Ritchie recently, he says of the return performance in Mississauga: “Coming back to Mississauga to perform will always be my favourite thing to do. Having grown up here all my life before working in California full-time, I always feel the band is coming back home to a big welcome. There’s no place like home.”
They continue to tackle the Southern California area this year by playing lots of city events and festivals, continuing to tour as part of their major goal this past year and for 2024.
The last time we saw the Dreamboats live at the LAC was in 2019! Be sure to catch their concert at the Living Arts Centre as they will be off performing all across the states once they finish their show in Mississauga.
