Kishor Sonawane works primarily in watercolors. My journey with art began at a very early age, even before he started school. Kishor's childhood was filled with sketching and painting, and his dedication was rewarded with Merit, A-grade, and subject prizes in state-level Elementary and Intermediate drawing grade exams, which fueled my passion for art. Despite his artistic inclinations, I pursued a career in mechanical engineering, working in the automotive industry in India and later in Canada. Throughout his professional journey, he never let go of his love for art. In 2008, he gravitated towards watercolors and began to explore and experiment with this medium, inspired by the works of many watercolor masters. With dedication I have earned significant recognition, won first place in the watercolor category at the Focus Art juried show in Cornwall, Ontario, in 2016. In 2019, secured third place in a plein air competition conducted by the McMichael Gallery in Kleinburg, Ontario. In 2021, achieved first place and a Gold Medal from the Toronto Watercolour Society for his painting "Farm near Burlington." I enjoys en plein air painting on location with plein air group from Mississauga. Also participating in plein air completions in Ontario. My work primarily focuses on landscapes, cityscapes, seascapes, and everyday moments of life, capturing the beauty and essence of his surroundings. Kishor currently resides in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada
